No worries though as we’ve got you covered – the RoomSketcher App is a complete replacement for Web Editor. Plus! The App brings you lots of cool and useful new features. So don’t worry, you’ll be able to continue to create professional floor plans and beautiful home designs with a company and products that are familiar and friendly.

All your projects will be available in the RoomSketcher App when you Sign In with your current account.

The RoomSketcher App

Early January 2018, RoomSketcher released our all-new RoomSketcher App. You can download and use the RoomSketcher App on Mac and Windows computers, plus iPad and Android tablets (a big upgrade from Web Editor that only works on desktop).

The App has a more modern UI, all key features are collected in a “hamburger” menu, plus we added lots of new functionality. Curved walls, flip and rotate, work both online AND offline, super-fast measurement wizards, plus much more. One of our top goals is to save our floor plan professionals time in their busy days. Today we have three times as many people using the RoomSketcher App as Web Editor. Check out some of our coolest features here.

Making the switch to the RoomSketcher App - Our Top Tips!

A Trip Down Memory Lane: The Evolution of a Floor Plan Tool

Curious about our history? Back in 2007, we launched the first version of Web Editor, a simple furniture layout tool. At the start, you imported a floor plan drawing or sketch. The floor plan image lay in the background, and you could add furniture using a mouse and click-and-drag. The customers sent in the blueprint and RoomSketcher manually created the 3D Model in 3D Studio Max – no instant correction in those days. Talk about a big change!

Over the years, RoomSketcher continued to develop and improve Web Editor and quickly included the ability to draw walls and add windows, doors, and stairs. Our software now created a 3D model instantly as you drew, “punching” holes in the walls to place windows and doors.

In early 2011, we updated Web Editor to include our popular snapshot and 3D Photo features, as well as our super cool 360 Views. Since then we’ve continued to develop the software and added heaps of popular high-end features like creating professional 2D Floor Plans (as opposed to the “cartoonish” 2D Floor Plans we had at the start), automatically calculating Total Area, branding, and much more.

Preparing for a Change

In July 2017, Adobe announced its plans to retire Adobe Flash. We weren’t surprised and had already begun preparing for the change. Our R&D team was well on its way to developing the RoomSketcher App.

Now, we are ready to take that final step and wave goodbye to Web Editor. We hope you too, will grow to love the App as much as we do, although we of course understand that for many of you it will be a big change.

But give us a chance, let us help you in this process, and we hope you will continue to be enthusiastic RoomSketcher users for many more years to come.
